Brick Wall your going to come down. Somehow there has to be a clue running around out there in someone's files that will answer this riddle.
Who was Susan Madison's parents?
Family used a birth date of 1818. But also gave a story of her birth was somewhere between 1812 and 1818. Where now that is even a better question? 1 census implied 1816.
Census information said, MASS, VT, NY and CT. Her last census she says New York.
I know the area moved around for boundaries but I also know according to census records their son
Noel JONES was born in MASS in 1835. All other children born in New York.
Yesterday I even found a child that the family did not bring forward or did not remember.
Looking at the 1810 census, 1820 census and 1830 census to 1850, my choices for near where she later lived are: Moses or Gideon Mattison or Job? H? Matteson.
1820
I know on 1820 census page 192 Petersburgh NY, there are many family members listed. Several JONES, CLARK, MAXSON, SCRIVEN, MAIN, WAIT, and I believe at least three more connected ones.
Abel JONES, Ra/escomb JONES, Samuel JONES, have Matteson above and below them, as immediate neighbors. Ancestry.com - 1820 United States Federal Census dated 7 Aug 1820.
Gideon Mattison has two females 10-15, 1 male under 10
Gideon Mattison /MADISON, Petersburg, Rensselaer, NY 1830 census
1830
1 female under 9, 1 female to 10- 14, 1 female to 15- 19 1 male under 5, 2 male5 to 9, 1 male 10-14
Again Gideon Madisen is next to Abel Jones, Schuyler Jones, Clarks, Samuel Jones, Rueben Green, down page Maxon. At the top is Ruscomb JONES spelt Newcomb Jones.with Clark and Brown.
Gideon is 40 to 49 she is 30 to 39
Ancestry.com - 1830 United States Federal Census
Abel Jones in this census has a 20-30 yr male along with himself over 80 to 90. I believe this young man is NOYES JONES.
Not finding Gideon in 1810.
1810
Moses Matison Berlin, Rensselaer, NY 1 female under 10, 3 males under 10. 1810 United States Federal Census - Ancestry.com, near are more JONES, GREEN, CLARK, BURDICK, ALLEN, Sweat(SWEET) Timothy JONES here as is William, Silas,(that is Silas Jr) Tho, Lawr.,?
1820
1820 United States Federal Census Moses Mattison, Petersburg, Rensselaer, NY 7 Aug 1820
Moses has 1 female 16- 25, 1 m 16-25, 1 m 10- 15, and 4 m under 10.
Abel JONES first picks up what I believe is NOYES JONES. child this age does not show in previous census. More JONES listed in 1820. Wait, Green, Hakes, Moon, Hewitt, Lewis also.
1830
No females with Moses of correct age 1830. His age 50 to 59 same for wife
1830 United States Federal Census
So if someone has all the names of Gideon's childen, I would like to compare them with my files.
Gideon of Petersburg, Rensselaer Co. NY

In an attempt to match the names to dashes I learned that George was not the first born child.
Jacob was born 7 May 1824 in PA. I am not going to say Clearfield County because I can not find proof. It was much more likely in another county at the time of birth.

Both George and Philip are brothers. Their father was John Pentico/ff with variant spellings. Mother was Katherine Young from Henry Young ie Jung. Families arrived mid 1700's. Have documents.
Story in book is the one given by many but the 33 letters she did not use must have had this correct information. Wish I had asked for them instead of turning them down 20 + years ago.

Oroville Pentico born Iowa died in Chico, CA area.
Is your family on the hunt? Some of ours are whacking at the bushes and startling the bees.
I recently received a phone call from northern California regarding a name that provoked my
husband to say, " I remember that name and they went to Chico, CA."
Knowing my husband is not big into genealogy and family I was a bit surprised by his comment.
Waiting until Sis was free and we could talk, I finally called her last night.
The man in question is a son of Oroville Pentico who was born 10 Jun 1886, County of Palo Alto, Iowa. Taken from WW1 draft card on Ancestry.com.
Oroville Pentico received his last SS Benefit Feb 1979. He did live in Chico, Butte Co. CA. It reverifies that he was born as stated.
Orville(spelling change) is in the 1900 census with his parents and siblings, at least some of them.
They were in Des Moines, Jasper, Iowa. Emmanuel was born in PA(which we knew)
Orville is in Emmetsburg, Palo Alto, IA 1920 married to Tessie Belle Finnestead Tessies Father is from PA also.

Our Tree Expanded with Great Joy
Today our Grandson Stephan Murillo and his fiancee' Nicole Bruno joined together in front of God and are now man and wife.
We are so blessed to finally have her as a member of our family. I am sure there are many pictures on Facebook by now, so not worrying about a picture here now.
We were also able to share time with several other class mates of theirs at the Reception. My what time and age does to mature young ones to adults. Having used to pat this one young man on the head at school often for signs of encouragement, I can hardly reach the top of his head now. I am so pleased to see the growth. It was great to see the other members also. It always makes my heart sing to see them and enjoy being around them.
Our heads are still rocking with the sound of Gongudum Style? sounding music. We truly enjoyed watching them dance and share times together. It also shows us what our other Grandchildren do when they are out at a dance. It looks like so much fun. I think definitely more fun that couples other than slow dances.
We can now add a couple of complete new names to our lines for the younger ones. Made my head spin when I realized that. There is a lot of people in all these families. Fortunately, I had met the Grandmother and others as much as 7 years ago when they were students in school.
When asked to dance, my knee held up and I did not fall down. If it not been touchy lately I would have tried the new dance method. Having always loved to dance, it was enjoyable to watch others and their moves.
The Church services were traditional and family participated in them. The reception was enjoyed, though initially a wee cool. The food was great. Enjoyed conversation with one of the hostesses at the end of the evening as they were clearing also. Everyone was polite and attempted to make all go smooth.
Chuckling the DJ even came over and asked if we wanted him to play some older music. He suggested Dean Martin. We were happy with what he had. I almost asked him for some Green Day, that was so hot when the newly weds were in school. I also like Green Day very much.
It was great to see so much family, with Ed and family there, Alan and H there, BJ and Zack, of course Candy and her family, with Jesus and his family also. May we get to know Nicole's family like we were able to get to know Jesus's over the years. It truly makes it then one big family.
We thought of Don, he called this morning to tell us to wish them well. We just wish he could feel well.
Steve and Nicole are the first of our ten grandchildren to marry. October 11, 2013.
