  • Victoria Mae (Ida) Foulk Jones Norris, our Grandmother

Grandma Ida was born 6 Nov 1897 in Washburn, Ia, according to her own story to me at my dining table.  Her parents were Harvey Edward FOULK and Margaret Mae EASTMAN.

She was born on a Saturday.  Verified by  Year 1897 Calendar, I may have it in a salvaged letter but doubt it.

At Historical Events for Year 1897 | HistoryOrb.com, it states that "Peter Pan" opens in NY at the Empire Theater on this date.

Also the first Indoor Fly Casting tournament opens, at Madison Square Garden.  Mmmm wonder if they are still doing this?

It is interesting to see in December of that year, was the letter written by Virginia O 'Hanlon. Do you remember what it was about?  I Do. Now I know why Grandma talked about it.

Interesting I think I have done this before because there was no one famous born on her birthdate.
Nor death or marriage.  Rather boring day in history.  Except for Peter  Pan
making it to the Empire Theater.

Her family has a famous painter and an opera star both in her background.  So Peter Pan makes sense to have happened.

Margaret Fuller, daughter of James Fuller

Margaret Fuller is our Ancestress, she is the daughter of James Fuller and as best we know "Catherine".

James Fuller was born in Maryland, 30 Jan 1769 and died 30 Jan 1842 in Peoria, Peoria, Ill at age 73.

Catherine was born 1777, if correct.

Margaret was their first born girl child, from what records we could find.  Margaret was born 15 May 1801 in Washington Co. Maryland.  She married Samuel Warden whom was born in Huntingdon Co. PA on 5 Nov 1818 in Guernsey Co. Ohio.  He died 18 August 1884 in Grant City,  Worth, Mo. at age 88.

Margaret was buried in Madrid, Boone, IA. She died 29 Dec. 1897.  age 96.  I have been to that cemetery for another family member and was shocked to learn a couple of years ago that the WARDEN's buried in that cemetery are all related to me.

My sister in law went and photographed all the family in that cemetery for me. Thanks Marilyn Pentico.

We inherited some pictures of this family.

Her siblings were: Thomas R b 31 May 1789, Linton Hundred, Washington Co. MD, then Margaret,
Susannah b 11 Sept 1802, Washington Co. MD., Elizabeth  b 1803 in Ohio, Joseph b 1804 in Guernsey Co. Oh., William Billy Fuller b 1810 OH.

1850 census verifies our information on her children and husband.  Also that all the children were born in Ohio and hers.

She and Samuel Warden, raised: John, James Murray, Samuel (Labath),  Jane,  Daniel*, Susanna, George, Isaac, Therisse Tursey, Nancy Ellen.

*Her son Daniel b 10 Feb 1830 Guernsey Co., Oh m 25 Feb 1853 in Guernsey Co., OH to a Mary J. Langdon born 1853  Ohio died 1868 Iowa.

    Abigail Cook, Our Female Ancestress

Abigail Cook, called Abbey by many, was born 1753  in New Gloucester, Cumberland, Maine.

Her parents are Daniel Cook and Elizabeth Scott Cook. Others on Ancestry.com have a long list of farther back to England.  I have not verified their work.

Abby Cook married Jesse WRIGHT 28 Oct 1775, New Gloucester, Cumberland, Maine.
She was 22 at the time.

    They had several children.
    Jesse b 1776 a male
    Josiah  b 1777 male
    Hannah b1780 female
    Molly b1782 female
    Abel b1784 male
    Christian  b 1786 male
    Sarah b 1790
    Deborah b 1792
    Mina b 1796

She had 20 years of giving birth to her family.

She past away 7 Jan 1841 Guilford, Piscataquis, Maine, US aged 88 years.

Her daughter Hannah b 1780 married Abraham D YOUNG Sr.*

Her husband I have more information on.

Jesse was born 19 Nov 1749 a brother as a twin and one more brother. Also an older brother b1744.

Jesse Wright, of Dracut, settled in 1774 on the lot now known as the Davis Nevens farm, which he bought of Bagley and Little, May 29, 1774, for "three pounds of lawful money." The deed, still in existence, was acknowledged before Stephen Longfellow, of Portland, and witnessed by Nathan and Jonas Coburn. Mr. Wright's first log house was just east of Meadow Brook. His brother Joel and Timothy Wright came about 1777.
I found in New Hampshire Birth Records, Early to 1900, records of Jesse and Joel Wright, both born 19 Nov. 1749, and Timothy Wright, 2 Aug. 1744, all born in Pelham, the children of Jonathan and Abigail Wright. Three earlier children of Jonathan and Abigail were born in Dracut, so the family seems to have moved across the border to New Hampshire in about 1742-44.
It looks like Jesse Wright was from Dracut, Mass., and/or Pelham, N. H. From Elder's History of Lewiston  Chris Dunham

Someday I may have time to verify more of her past lineage.  But the trees I read indicated Cook's were from England.

I shared my YOUNG  Information with this Cook Researcher.

Abraham D Young Sr's son  Jr. is our line.
