In an attempt to match the names to  dashes I learned that George was not the first born child.
Jacob was born 7 May 1824 in PA.  I am not going to say Clearfield County because I can not find  proof.  It was much more likely in another county at the time of birth.

His son Emanuel is in Kansas later not to be confused with our direct line from Phillip b 1828 Near Jersey Shores, PA.

Both George and Philip are brothers.  Their father was John Pentico/ff with variant spellings. Mother was Katherine Young from Henry Young ie Jung. Families arrived mid 1700's. Have documents.
Story in book is the one given by many but the 33 letters she did not use must have had this correct information. Wish I had asked for them instead of turning them down 20 + years ago.

Oroville Pentico born Iowa died in Chico, CA area.

Is your family on the hunt? Some of ours are whacking at the bushes and startling the bees.

I recently received a phone call from northern California regarding a name that provoked my
husband to say, " I remember that name and they went to Chico, CA."

Knowing my husband is not big into genealogy and family I was a  bit surprised by his comment.
Waiting until Sis was free and we could talk, I finally called her last night.

The man in question is a son of Oroville Pentico who was born 10 Jun 1886, County of Palo Alto, Iowa. Taken from WW1 draft card on Ancestry.com.
Oroville Pentico received his last SS Benefit Feb 1979.  He did live in Chico, Butte Co. CA.  It reverifies that  he was born as stated.

Orville(spelling change) is in the 1900 census with his parents and siblings, at least some of them.

So interesting to see more family interlinks in these lines .
Emanuel was the father of both Frank and Orville, Fred, Mary, Jim and Shirley's Great Grandfather. Orville was a Great Uncle.

We would love to find a picture of Frank A Pentico.
Does anyone have pictures of any of these people???

Our Tree Expanded with Great Joy

Today our Grandson Stephan Murillo and his fiancee' Nicole Bruno joined together in front of God and are now man and wife.

We are so blessed to finally have her as a member of our family.  I am sure there are many pictures on Facebook by now, so not worrying about a picture here now.

We were also able to share time with several other class mates of theirs at the Reception.  My what time and age does to mature young ones to adults.  Having used to pat this one young man on the head at school often for signs of encouragement, I can hardly reach the top of his head now. I am so pleased to see the growth.  It was great to see the other members also.  It always makes my heart sing to see them and enjoy being around them.

Our heads are still rocking with the sound of Gongudum Style? sounding music. We truly enjoyed watching them dance and share times together.  It also shows us what our other Grandchildren do when they are out at a dance.  It looks like so much fun. I think definitely more fun that couples other than slow dances.

We can now add a couple of complete new names to our lines for the younger ones. Made my head spin when I realized that. There is a lot of people in all these families.  Fortunately, I had met the Grandmother and others as much as 7 years ago when they were students in school.

When asked to dance, my knee held up and I did not fall down.  If it not been touchy lately I would have tried the new dance method. Having always loved to dance, it was enjoyable to watch others and their moves.

The Church services were traditional and family participated in them. The reception was enjoyed, though initially a wee cool. The food was great.   Enjoyed conversation with one of the hostesses at the end of the evening as they were clearing also.  Everyone was polite and attempted to make all go smooth.

Chuckling the DJ even came over and asked if we wanted him to play some older music.  He suggested Dean Martin.  We were happy with what he had.  I almost asked him for some Green Day, that was so hot when the newly weds were in school.  I also like Green Day very much.

It was great to see so much family, with Ed and family there, Alan and H there, BJ and Zack, of course Candy and her family, with Jesus and his family also. May we get to know Nicole's family like we were able to get to know Jesus's over the years.  It truly makes it then one  big family.

We thought of Don, he called this morning to tell us to wish them well.  We just wish he could feel well.

Steve and Nicole are the first of our ten grandchildren to marry. October 11, 2013.

Ida"s Mom, Margaret Mae Eastman FOULK Archer

Margaret Mae Eastman is the daughter of George Herbert EASTMAN and Lydia Trowbridge.
His father was Abijah Stoddard EASTMAN and mother was Esther *THOMAS* with a question mark. My files say Thomas from my research Grandma Ida said she was either a THOMAS or a WOOD.  Big story here for later.

Margaret Mae married Harvey Edward Foulk son of William Henry Foulk b 1846 in Somerset Co. PA died Ia 1940. His Mom was Katherine MYERS b 1845 Perry Co. IA died 1922  Blackhawk Co., IA.

Harvey Edward Foulk was born 18 Oct 1867 in Illinois.1870 with parents  Wm  H Foulk and Catharine Foulk 1870 census also with brother Arthur F. aged 1 and he is aged 3. Cedar, Blackhawk Co. IA.

1910 Census Harvey and Margret are in Eagle, Blackhawk, IA

Victoria Mae (IDA) married Carl Fremont JONES, His Uncle Charlie Jones took them to Blue Mound, Minn to marry, due to family squabble over wealth. ARRRGH  I have certificate.

1920 census with wife Margaret Mae Eastman in Platte township 22 North E#9 Wyo.
Dad remembered when they came to town and Grandad told him to tell his parents they were on the way back to IOWA. Gave him a horse and instructions about property.  Dad was 8 years old.

Other children with Harvey and Margaret Mae were: Arthur W. 21  (Great Uncle Dick); Belva L 19 whom married Earnest Rice lived Greybull, Wyo.,; Claude O 17, married Edna Musselman,  I knew them well, they lived in Wheatland, Wyo area.  She made the best pickled beets jello salad.;  Blanche E. 15 died young have pic of her casket etc; Ira E., I met once when he came to see Dad in Valley Ford, Ca., Alvina K. 10 lived in Wheatland and we all knew and loved her she married Mr. Kerns.; Herbert E. 6 married late and his wife still with us. Love her very much.

Dad and Uncle Herbie (Great Uncle) were born almost at the same time.

Harvey disappears at the time he shipped a load of wheat to Russia.  No one learned more of him or at least did not acknowledge information. Interesting stories though came from it.

Here is the only picture I know have of her since government lost the letters and pictures she had shared.  With her last husband.  Mr. Archer.  Great Grandma died January 23,1958 the year I graduated from school. She was born 6 Oct 1874 Black Hawk Co. IA.

Shasta Foulk is the baby in her arms.   Shasta you were cute.

Victoria Mae (Ida) Foulk, m Jones then Norris.

Here is a picture of Grandma (IDA) Jones, at the time (dvd) with her daughters at my Aunt Etta's home in Petaluma, California on her husbands family's dairy. Ollimac Dairy. I think it was about 1946.

Remembering that Aunt Muril was married to Uncle Joseph COLLIN's and Aunt Bethel was married to Aubie Dee Cooper, Sr. Both men served in the war, as did Uncle Comillo Morelli, Aunt Etta's husband before he went back to the dairy.

These are my Dad's sisters. His brother was in the Navy and at Pearl Harbor.
Both Uncle Joe and Uncle Pete (Aubie) were at the hospital in San Francisco at one time.
I can not remember if there were there together or just right after each other but suspect that is when this picture would have been taken. Suspect Mom took the picture for her to have picture and negative.

Etta Jones Morelli back Aunt Bethel Jones Cooper back
front Grandma Ida, Aunt Muril Collins  I thought they had such attractive dresses.

Almost forgot how thin Grandma was when younger.  The picture is outside the kitchen of Aunt Etta;s house.  Down to the left was the Fig Tree,  Don Morelli and I used to get into and eat the figs when first ripe.  They tasted so good.
