May Hurray, OKAY for MAY

WEll a small tidbit, was rearended in February, was told minimal use of arms and body for several weeks. Nothing broke just bruised. So I am going to go back to sharing more news. We have no opened concrete data if people are other places in the UNIVERSE. My parents taught me to respect all people. Thankfully because DNA shows we have a very distant relationship attaached to many old world groups. Understanding why Dad and his Jewish friend used to tease DAD he had to be part Jewish the way he haggled. Yes he won sometimes also. Yup we are. I hope Dad has met many of our past kin. The DNA makes life far more interesting. We need to let go of some thoughts on ability to welcome more of our truly enlarged families that we do have. OOO I am sure it grates on many and makes others say OOO NOOO. But you can take the royalty of Europe, where many lines crossed and shared and got out of hand at times. You will learn much studying Ancient History. If you are just starting research, it is enough to just sometimes find an immediately family member. It gets more intense with the third and 4th generatios of reseach. Those being your Grandparents or Great Grandparents. Being blessed with a Grandfather whose family had much data known and perserved and saved, it was a great help but still the Cedar River, went over it's banks in Iowa and much data was waterlogged and taken to the dump. WORD of ADVISE if WET FREEZE IT. I have tried with small document to see if it would work it did. NOW whether you have boxes full that is probably another matter. Cousin used hair dryer on some. Called me as he was preparing to take the last batch to the dump. Would love to have society have someone from Archives give us more knowledge on this process. The entire USA has had intense weather and flooding and I am sure many of genealogists and learning to be Genealogists would love to get this type of information for saving their data. We on Mom's side were blessed they kept the family story, at least one of them pretty well intack. Going to start writing the stories Grandad Cecil Leroy Hoffman, used to tell us everytime we went back to Wyo to see family. He would take my two other cousins & I , both male, 1 older one younger than I. Line us up on hay bailer and tell us the same story over and over for years. Alas I am the last of the three left. But that one story proved true when I was helping another person with their research. I am tracking two more stories one is really interesting but not gaining any ground. This was on his wife, our Grandma Inez Mar SCott's side of the family. Do you have old stories you can track and see if true? Do you have memorabilia that leaves you wonder what it was for or why your family has it? Many times you do not need to leave your home to start your research the questions are on the shelves in the drawers or Picture Albums. Jewelry boxes or Glove boxes used for the few pieces of jewelery they have as Inez did hers. I have the glove box Sis has the jewelery item. Same color as her birthmonth stone. Sometimes pictures give clues to past heritage, some times old passed down letters or tapestry embroderied gives you clues I hope this helps you to open your mind to your heritage and background and not be afraid of whom we have been and whom we have become. Hello, Learned more on JONES today.

LEARNED MORE ON JONES TODAY, HURRAY It seems it really may come to pass with a more filled out tree for female Ancestral lines. I was so excited to find this one email sent to me long ago filed in my completed folder. It was able to give me more data on some of the female married names. It also gives the surnames of more family members for us to locate. So wish they would find Noyes (Nois) Jones and Susan Madison Jones and children picture that I was told hung in the hall of his home. Some one took it home and no one seems to to know whom it went to. DO I want it no, but a copy would give me more facial features to look at to pick out kin. Yes, they seemed to follow each other across the country. It makes sense really. Someone once said were they not speaking, no I do not think that was the problem at all. Knowing there were troubles here and there but not to the point of not talking to each other. When I reached this side of the family on the phone they shared so many stories and gave me others names and numbers to contact and learn more. I have learned there is an error in happenings but it is not a big deal to me. Wanting to find the son who went missing in New York between 1850-55. Noel Jones b 1835 Massachussetts. I never found a death notice so wondered if he just didn't want to go west and stayed east. But was told he was killed and family wanted to leave the area for fresher ground. Later Noyes and Susan lost another son due to the CW. William Harrison died 31 Dec 1862 Stones River Battle. His brother was seriously injured and buried as dead. Was found and nursed back to health and walked back to Illinois. Calvin Fay my ancestor, and Great Grandfather. The home he built was almost like a southern mansion. I have a picture of it taken by a helper. (It pays to have a helper when one can not get there to learn data). I had not done that before. Proven Data. Sadly I am stopped with Teague Jones Sr. and Rahamana, (Indian proven,). I was given data from England on his parentage but now 15 years later they are back peddling. Looking for DNA match down the road. Teague fought Narraganset Indians with Richard Berry . Many records in the Daily Minutes for the Town Coucil meetings. The same applies to Richard Berry also very early kin. 28 October 1645 fought the Indians with a group from Yarmouth. England originally said this: His mother Josian Grey remarried after Christopher Jones Jr died of pneamonia. She married one of the other two holders of the ship. It was a 3 way agreement. She requested trip to America to see the land Christopher constantly talked of. Supposedly married and were taken to Boston area. ????? I beleive that is why we can not find data on Teague and due to his father being very ill he never got recorded per their rules??? Need Ship Records and names of the original 2 plus Christopher Jones. My goal was to find where from and no funds to go to England to learn more. Never dreamt they may be connected. TRYING AGAIN.===WHEATLAND, WYOMING 1900 TO CURRENT.

YESTERDAY, I started and saved a major blog post to be read. Today It has gone away not to be found. Sorta odd. The post you read I wrote for a year ago spring when everything stopped. I will regenerate a post current to our topics and get it up soon. Wheatland, Wyoming you are on the hot seat. Never really realized what was there yet I knew it mentally just didn't think of it. I have toured the court house and seen my parents Marriage application and approval. Uncle Dick took me to the court house. William Richard Hoffman, ' My family and a great deal of it lived and moved in and out of Wheatland, Wyo for many years. I still have cousins there and Uncle Dick's wife. I am sure I have other cousins there that when Dad died I did not follow up on. I know the Drews' moved away. Uncle Gerald saw two of the boys in Denver area eons ago. I suspect they are all gone. I spoke with Ducima Drew about 30 + years ago. Looking for information on the HULSE, KINNAMON'S, SETTELS. BARTLETT IS FAMILY NAME ALSO. BEATTY, FOLK, FOULK, FEIL, EASTMAN, HOFFMAN, JONES, KERNS, LAWRENCE, MUSSELMAN, SCOTT, SCRANTON, PARRISH, and others. Dad died in 1995 in Santa Rosa, CA. Ray Dee Jones Sr, Mom died several years later. She was at home in Valley Ford, Ca and the property was sold. Dorothy Inez Hoffman Jones. That part of my genealogy is missing on computer have to pull out her Obit. Back up drive died while in Michigan some years back. All of this started because cousin in Wheatland called me to ask about the Dr Huffman that lived Wheatland in the 1920's and maybe later. The older generation talked but could not find clues but thought they could be related. Hoffman and Huffman in many instances is same line. Old Germany only had Hoffman. But when spoken to Englishman it had a UUUU sound so after about 1880 UU shows in their records of people going back . SusiCP1@gmail.com. 2022 February So much to say, so little time. 17 Feb 1978 was husband's day for retiring from the military. United States Navy more than 25 years employed. His birthday is coming in March he was born in 1935. He grew up in farming communities in Iowa. He played football in high school and drove the school bus for everyone to get to school for a period of time. He graduated from Woodward High School. He enlisted in the Navy not long after graduation. He went to join the Air Force but that person had gone to lunch and he was asked by the Navy Recruiter if he wanted to try the Navy. His brother had just been drafted so he said yes. The rest is history. He has had many exciting adventures. Been invovled in many intriguing events. He worked with and knew some of the more talked about Pilots of VietNeim area. He was Sailor of the Quarter and Sailor of the Year for the West Coast. He was a Boy Scout Leader for his sons troop with other servicemen as they rotated in and out for duty. We have an Eagle Scout and a Life Scout. The boys loved the Scouting. He designed tools that saved the Navy money and was given a small stipend. The father of five children 3 boys and 2 girls. Brother to two sisters *both now deceased" and 1 brother. One sister lived with us, her last 7 years. His Mother lived with us after his Dad died and she could no longer live alone. She is also deceased. He had my Mom live with us and get back on her feet after some health issues for several months and wanted her to stay with us when she decided to go home. He is a member of the FRA and has held offices in the orgainization. He has supported our children through good and rough spots both. He still supports our children and grandchildren when he feels he can assist them or advise them for ideas. He looks with great joy when his grandchildren come to visit and delights in the visiting of his great grand children 2 girls and 1 boy. More to add tomorrow.

                                AS MY MIND WANDERS, DOES YOURS ALSO?

            My mind amazes me, why does it ask all these questions once one has gone to bed?
            As digging in the dirt and pulling weeds my thinking is of applying the gardening
            method to my genealogy.  Some days it pays alas many days it grabs me in the middle of
            the night on the things one can do when awake to try a new way to resolve a missing
            ancestors Heritage.

            Census Data

            1.  Relook at the Census records for 5 Generations.

            2.  Did one miss a clue on one of those pages?

            3.  Census does not change it has been there ever since posted.

            4.  But boundaries do change in Census, that matters,

            5.  Names of places one learns also changed way back then.

            6.  Nicknames are used, second name verses first, is it the same person?

            7.  Are they living with other people?

            8.  Have they moved within the community?

            9.   Watch for marriages nears parents?

          10.   Watch for deaths in papers and later SS  Death Index.

            You realize that is only ten topics. Betting you can find more.

             Many times we have to relook at our data and see what is amiss.
