Treasure Chest Thursday, Rev. Joseph Patterson

After 30 years of looking digging and discussing the Patterson lineage, a break came a couple of years ago.

There is much out there on the Patterson's.  Just had to find the right  one. He died in Alleghany Co. near Pittsburg, PA. He lived in Washington Co. for many years.. He is Jane Patterson's father.

He is obviously the reason cousin Karen said Mom looked just like her Aunt.  They were kin. We are kin.  With those comments I started digging in earnest to learn Jane's father's name. It seemed to take for ever. A Tidbit here and a tidbit there but never enough to confirm. A trip to Los Angeles Library helped.  He was born in Ireland  20 March 1752, fought in the Rev. War and  moved west became an ordained minister and died 4 Feb 1832.

I keep telling people books, books hold lots of keys, not necessarily the internet but books.
